In the true spirit of Nelson Mandela’s legacy of community and service, JMC Motor South Africa, in proud partnership with Raceview Motors, JMC Alberton; spent Mandela Day wrapped in the warmth of community, serving the beloved elders at Elandsvallei Home for the Aged in Primrose, Germiston.

The day was rooted in a simple yet profound goal: to ensure South Africa’s senior citizens feel seen, valued, and deeply cherished.

To offer tangible support to both the residents and the facility, the team delivered personally curated care packages to every single resident. With the packages JMC South Africa dropped off a full month’s supply of essential groceries, vital household cleaning goods, and personal hygiene items, the donations aim to alleviate daily operational pressures while honouring the tireless caregivers who dedicate their lives to the home.

A Heritage of Care

Founded in 1951, Elandsvallei Home for the Aged stands as a beacon of dignity for generations of elderly South Africans. Operating today as a flagship project of the South African Red Cross Society in Gauteng, the facility provides far more than shelter, nursing, and frail care, it provides a sanctuary where residents can age with comfort, purpose, and self-worth.

Hands-On Kindness & Human Connection

The morning began with energy and heart at Raceview Motors, JMC Alberton, where dealership staff generously volunteered their time to pack each care package by hand. Joined by the JMC Motor South Africa team, they then personally delivered the packages to Elandsvallei.

Yet, the true magic of the day went beyond the boxes. The team spent meaningful hours sitting with the residents, exchanging stories, sharing laughter, and weaving moments of genuine human connection that embodied the essence of Madiba’s vision.

“Nelson Mandela famously reminded us that what counts in life is the difference we make to the lives of others,” said Bianca Naudé, Marketing and Communications Manager at Salvador Caetano Group, GAC Motor & JMC Motor South Africa.

“Our visit to Elandsvallei was never just about drop-offs or donations. It was about looking our elders in the eyes and letting them know they are profoundly valued. We are endlessly grateful to the passionate team.”

Sister Wendy, Matron of Elandsvallei Home for the Aged, shared her heartfelt gratitude:

“We are deeply moved by the generosity and warmth shown by JMC Motor South Africa and Raceview Motors, JMC Alberton. While the care packages provide immense practical relief for the month ahead, it was the gift of time that touched us most. Knowing they have not been forgotten means the world to our residents. Thank you for making this Mandela Day so unforgettable.”

This initiative stands as a testament to what is possible when businesses, local dealerships, and community organisations unite behind a shared heartbeat. As JMC Motor South Africa continues to expand its footprint across the country, the company remains dedicated to driving positive change—proving that when people come together in compassion, even small acts of love create ripples that last long into the future.
